Tetramorium immigrans, also known as the North American pavement ant is a ubiquitous ant found all across North America. They are a very good beginner species that generally leans to the smaller side, with queens being 6-7 mm long and workers being 3-5 mm long. They grow colonies of over 10,000 in just a year or two. They require fairly dry habitats, preferring 30-40% humidity and 21-25 degrees centigrade.
