Unlike many other fire ants, \u003cem\u003eSolenopsis geminata\u003c\/em\u003e is particularly well adapted to harvesting seeds, which form an important part of its diet. Workers collect and process seeds inside the nest, where they can be stored and used as a food source for the colony.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese ants are highly active and fast growing, making them an exciting species to watch as the colony develops. Colonies have multiple worker sizes, with workers ranging from approximately 2 to 6mm and queens reaching around 7mm.
