Reticulitermes flavipes, or the Eastern Subterranean Termite is a species of subterranean termite introduced from the United States. This species has workers that reach up to 3-4 mm in length, and imagoes that reach up to 6mm in length. Their colonies can reach up to a million individuals, and queenless colonies will start producing secondary reproductives when past 100 individuals. These termites can be fed on most woods, and are otherwise a very easy species to care for, preferring 60-80% humidity and temperatures from 10-30 degrees year round. This species should not be hubernated outside in colder areas.
